Well in truth, she always knew of his existence in some sort of way, being provided that he was also a pianist in school and she basically figured out a majority of who the piano people were in school by Year 9. In truth, she knew him as the guy who constantly played the Heart of Greed theme song. xD But it wasn’t until she was in Year 11, where on one occasion, after choosing Visual Arts over Honyak’s offer of skipping class for music, she finds him in her music class after recess, with Chyra suddenly inviting her to assist in his elective piece, as her sister had done the same song for her HSC - Fairytale.

Slowly, the number of MSN convos increased throughout the months that followed, to the point it was almost a daily routine. It was a rather absurd thing; she usually loses enthusiasm in random convos unless it was with her friends which she’s known a lot longer in comparison to this guy here, with whom she realises a lot later that, their conversations can and seem to always continue to late at night, when most of her other contacts are asleep already, and when she should be sleeping. She was attempting to rid her over-analysing nature during that time, so she shrugged it off.

One day, hopelessly searching through Tumblr, she found that he made a new post, a YouTube video he uploaded, Do You Love Me, the medley which she named for him, the text quoting:

“Do you love me? Probably not. x] this song is dedicated to you. =]”

This provoked her curiosity. She was never aware of his interests towards any particular girl, especially since he only liked teasing her with another guy, and that this topic has not been approached to lately, despite conversations that happen almost daily. She asked who the post was dedicated to. She received no answer.

Believing she’d be able to annoy him the next day at school, she went to bed dismissing the curiosity. He wasn’t in school the next day. Her curiosity increased even more. She thought in the beginning that, as a decent friend, not sharing his thoughts to her was unfair. So she asked online again that night, which lead to a nagging session that lasted to 1.30am, ending with him threatening’: “you asked for it!”

She went to bed pondering about his last words and hopelessly analysed the ‘hints’.

The following day she had two of her friends analysing his words, to which on of them stated: “It’s you, doofus. why you so curious anyway?” This caught her off guard. She didn’t remember why she was so curious. She initially thought of giving up if he didn’t spill the name in the first go. This left her pondering even more, although the expression on his face when he sees her throughout the day was rather amusing. She walked with the second friend during lunch to the canteen, to which she unknowingly spoke to herself: “Who is it?”

“It’s you”
“How do you know?”
“Well, it’s… the way he looks at you. It’s different.”
“More importantly, why the hell am I so curious?”
“Well maybe it’s because you like him too.”

Similar things followed throughout the remainder of the school day, where she continued in nagging him all the way to the station. It was only on the convo this night, did he tell her the name. Well, not really a name, since what he typed up consisted of no names:

“umm i like you. =/
… and i regret pressing enter”

The next day, after being told by the first friend to play around with online quizzes, consisted mostly of her pondering with a decision. Opinions were taken into consideration, but she was mainly focusing on finding her own feelings. She reflected this to a similar event during the beginning of the year. The difference was that her instinct told her to give it a go. So she texted him.

To get herself ready, she deliberately kept her pm on “dinner” to buy some time. Her friend laughed and told her: “make sure you’re ready. :) goodluck!”

And this was how it started.

One day, she asked a question, somewhere along the lines of: “How did you notice me?”
